Volunteering Opportunities
Mentor coach
A key role in our mission; leads a weekly soccer and life skills session in the community.
Soccer experience desired but not required, we provide the curriculum and training for volunteers to lead well.
Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and willing to facilitate a Biblical conversation around our Life Skill curriculum. We provide the curriculum and training on how to lead well in this area.
Commits to be a mentor coach for a 10-12 week season leading one weekly practice and one game on Saturday. Spring season runs from Mid February to Mid May. Fall season runs from Mid August to Mid November. Games are played on Saturdays starting at 8am and ending at 1pm. Currently we host the matches at Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn, GA.
Ideally we provide two coaches minimum per team for greater support but also in case a coach needs to miss a practice/game due to a last minute situation. We ask our coaches to miss no more than 2 practices/games per season. Presence is 80% of our mission and a key value in order to create meaningful and transformational relationships.
Teams practice once per week and training last 90 minutes. 60-70 minutes of soccer training and 20-30 minutes of the Life Skill curriculum.
Games last 50 minutes, two 25 minute halves, plus warm-up before the game and cool down after the game. With an additional team talk you will need 70-80 minutes per game. A total weekly investment of 3 hours per week including the practice and weekend game.
Must attend Mentor Coach training before the beginning of the season.
Engages player's families in order to build meaningful relationships and clearly communicate with them in regards of game schedules, transportation needs and ensure kids can get to weekend games on time.
If needed, provides transportation to players to weekend games and/or communicates with parents to ensure everyone has a ride to and from the game.
Relational Coach
Soccer experience desired but not required as this is not a soccer coaching position. The primary role of the Relational Coach is to invest in the relational aspect and build meaningful relationships with the children and their families.
No soccer coaching required but desired.
Supports Mentor Coach in the leading and facilitating of the Life Skill curriculum.
Must honor and respect our Biblical-based life skill curriculum and support our skills program.

Referee
Referees the matches on Saturdays.
3-4 matches per Saturday (8am-U19, 9:15am-U16/U13, 10:30am-U10/U8)
Matches last 50 minutes, two 25 minute halves, with a 5 minute halftime.
Basic soccer knowledge required.
Matches are recreational level but they require someone who can manage a game environment.
Can commit to referee one or more Saturdays if possible.
Set Up & Tear Down
Set up
Great opportunity to support our team in setting up an environment to welcome our families and children on Saturdays.
Supports staff in setting up the fields, concession stand and parking lot.
Involves the moving of soccer equipment from storage room to the field.
Sets up portable soccer goals and places them on the field. Our staff will train you first on how to set up and tear down the goals as these can be easily broken if not handled in the correct way.
Set up is from 6:30am to 8:30am on Saturdays. Currently we host our matches at Providence Christian School in Lilburn, GA. Can sign up to serve at 1 or more Saturdays if possible.
Tear Down
Supports staff in picking up, packing, and storing the equipment back in storage room and/or staff vehicles.
Ensures there is no trash on the field and facility.
Empties trash cans, replaces with new trash bag, and places trash bags in the designated area.
Tear down is 11:30am to 1:30pm.
Parking & Gate Crew
Provides directions to people on where to park.
Two time slots to serve, 7:30am-9:30am and 9:30am-11:30am.
Need a minimum of 3 people to serve.
Ensures people can cross street safely towards the field main gate. This may entail stopping oncoming cars and/or guiding people to wait. Street is not a busy one, yet we want to ensure all are safe.
Main gate: Ensures only coaches park in the main gate area. There are only 5 spots, therefore one must direct other coaches to main parking lot once the main gate lot is full.
Ensures main gate remains closed at all times. If a coach is departing after their match, please open gate and close after car departs.
Ensures parking signs are set up and on display.
Field Gate: Ensures children with cleats are not walking on the track.
Ensures that people are not entering with food to the field.
Communicates with people entering field gate that only water is allowed on the field and track. All other food must be consumed outside the field and track, by the concession area.
